It's A Wonderful Life!

It's A Wonderful Life!

When I was little,  to my utter joy, I was once gifted a cute toy car. It became my best friend. I used to play with it all day, and would dump it beside all the rest of my playthings at bed time. But one morning, it was gone. Yes, just gone. Last night it was lying over there, and today, its been given away to someone else. I was deeply saddened. Now as I look back, it dawns upon me: That everything, just like my toy car, that has come my way, has to leave someday. My favorite tv series, Friends, parents, my dear sister, and my life, all are going to go. Me and you, everybody, has to die one day. All things, good or otherwise, do end one day. Our days may seem endless, but they are also numbered. Death, is inevitable.

Such things sure do sound harsh, and many people instead take shelter in thoughts of rebirth and afterlife. They feel death doesn't end life and it carries on in heaven and hell. However, wishing something to be true doesn't make it the truth.

The truth is, that life is short. And the good news is that this very truth makes life so enjoyable! Would you enjoy a movie that never reaches its climax, or a book that never ends? Ofcourse not.  We should come to terms with the uncertain lengths of our lives. Only then can we give it meaning and purpose: live while you can!
Enjoy every day, every moment you are gifted with. Love yourself and everybody around you. Do good things without wishing to be rewarded in some other world or life. Even then we will die one day. But will also live on, in the work that we've done and in the memories of people whose lives we've touched!

Booyah.
